FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“Another way Koch Trucking is investing in their greatest asset”
[Minneapolis, MN, February 2, 2018—] Stan Koch & Sons Trucking, Inc. (“Koch Trucking”), based in Minneapolis, MN, is proud to announce a new pay range increase for our over the road drivers, and a portion of our dedicated drivers.
Starting pay rates for the OTR fleet, regional fleets and some specialized OTR fleets are based on experience. Qualified drivers with at least one year of driving experience will now earn a minimum of $.41 per mile (with hazmat endorsement), and qualified drivers with five years or more driving experience will earn a minimum of $.45 per mile (with hazmat endorsement). The pay raise will affect over half of Koch Trucking’s existing fleet. Current drivers on local and dedicated runs earn competitive pay scales.
In addition to the pay raise initiative, Koch Trucking’s Orientation Bonus Payout is also increasing. The bonuses will now range from $3,000 - $7,000, depending on the fleet. New drivers will receive four installments of the applicable bonus over the course of their first year – the first installment earned upon completion of first dispatch, and the three remaining installments upon completion of the 3rd, 6th and 12th month of continuous, uninterrupted employment at Koch Trucking. Koch Trucking’s “Guaranteed Pay” program also remains in effect, ensuring all new drivers earn a minimum of $800 at the end of each week for their first six weeks. On top of the pay and bonus structure increase, drivers may also be eligible to earn a $.01 per mile pay increase each year, together with additional year-round safety bonuses.
Koch Trucking’s CEO, Randy Koch, believes these initiatives will continue Koch Trucking’s attracting top-quality, safe drivers, and sustain the growth of Koch Trucking’s professional driver base.
“Rate increases and benefits from the recent tax law reform have allowed us to re-evaluate our current driver pay to make sure we are putting money back in the pockets of our greatest asset – the driver,” Koch said. “As the first driver for Koch, I know what it’s like out on the road, and I know what a struggle it can be sometimes. It can feel like a tough and thankless job at times. We want to be fair, and we want our drivers to continue to feel like they are appreciated.”
