MultiMedia's
Trucker Buddy Driver of the Month
Harold "Bruce" Moss III

The students in Donna Lavold’s 3rd grade class in Waupaca, Wisconsin are not only big fans of the Green Bay Packers, they think their Trucker Buddy, Harold “Bruce” Moss III is a hero too. Student, Kya, nominated Moss because, “He is the greatest Trucker Buddy [and] he’s a Packer fan just like me!”
Classmate Brady agrees, “Good thing he is a Packer fan an not a Kansas City Chiefs fan,’ he said.
These students may be loyal to their NFL football team, but they also adore Trucker Buddy Moss and the impact he has made on their learning experience. While the children are impressed with the gifts and candy he sends them, their teacher, Donna Lavold appreciates the effort he makes in writing and visiting the class. “Generosity of time and his giving nature are characteristic of our Trucker Buddy,” she said. “A few weeks ago all my students received a US puzzle that will help them learn their states,” she added.
Trucker Buddy Moss lives in Mayetta, KS and has been leased to Dart Transit, Eagen, MN for nearly thirty years! He has been corresponding with Donna Lavold's classes for the past three years, and according to the teacher, “Students from previous years sometimes inquire if we are still writing to Mr. Moss and [they] mention how much they enjoyed that experience.”
Harold “Bruce” Moss III has made an impact on these children by adopting their class through the Trucker Buddy program in May of 2003. He is one of nearly 4,000 professional drivers who share their time with elementary classes throughout the world. The only criteria to be a Trucker Buddy is to be a truck driver and willing to send a post card each week to a class in grades two through eight. Drivers and teachers can find out more about the program by visiting www.truckerbuddy.org or calling 1-800-MY BUDDY.
Each Trucker Buddy Driver of the Month will receive a personalized jacket, along with a

They will also receive an IdleAire adaptor (www.IdleAire.com), a Koolatron cooler and a complete set of Airtabs for their tractor-trailer, (www.airtab.com) as well as Donde Publishing’s “For the Long Haul,” reference guide for drivers and an Accident Photo pack.
