Dear #FirstName#,

Next week at this time we'll be heading out to Louisville. We've come to think of the Louisville Truck Show as the first sign of spring. We're not sure why. Maybe it's all the new trucks, or maybe it's the Kentucky bourbon, either way it's great to be in Louisville in the springtime.

Trucker Buddy Driver of the Month

Carroll and Dora Bean

Do you remember the 3rd grade? Trucker Buddy Drivers of the Month Carroll and Dora Bean remember, and they share their 3 rd grade experiences with their class in Rock Springs, WY. Linda Merrill’s students at Overland Elementary School for the past seven years have benefited from the Beans’ correspondence.

“Interstate 80 can be seen through our classroom window and my students see lots of trucks traveling on a daily basis,” says Linda. “Carroll and Dora made the drivers inside those trucks come alive. They find many interesting places to visit from the ostrich farm in Arizona to the cotton fields of Texas. They wrote about and sent photos showing how maple syrup is made in Vermont, from tapping the trees, to boiling the sap, to making candy and bottling syrup. We poured the syrup they sent over ice cream just like Carroll and Dora did when they were in 3 rd grade.”

“They make sure we do the best we can in 3rd grade,” writes a student named Holly. The Beans live in Alburg, VT and are owner-operators leased to FedEx Custom Critical in Green, OH. They both competed in the 2005 Vermont Truck Driving Championships; Carroll placed 1st and Dora placed 2nd.

Carroll and Dora are pen pals with nearly 4,000 other professional drivers who share their time with elementary classes throughout the world. The only criteria to be a Trucker Buddy is to be a truck driver and willing to send a postcard each week to a class in grades two through eight. Drivers and teachers can find out more about the program by visiting www.truckerbuddy.org or calling 1-800-MY BUDDY.

Trucker Buddy is dependent on corporate sponsors such as MultiMedia Advertising and TruckDriver.com to fund the program.

TruckDriver.com Carrier of the Month
Southern Refrigerated Transport, Inc.

Southern Refrigerated Transport, Inc. is an over-the-road motor carrier, located in Ashdown, AR. SRT has over 15 years of service to its customers in 48 states and Canada and is proud to offer its customers the premium service they demand for all of their temperature controlled, dry and Haz-Mat transportation needs.

At Southern Refrigerated Transport, they know that drivers are the heart of the company and without them there would be no SRT. Southern Refrigerated strives to provide today's hard-working drivers with superior benefits, a competitive pay package, and the absolute best equipment available.

The number one priority for SRT drivers is to drive, not to load and unload 6 or 7 times per week. If the truck isn't rolling, you can't make money, and if you aren't making money, neither is the company. That is why their dispatchers schedule your trips so that your average length of haul is 1200 miles, and load you with freight that is 99% no touch.

Family time is valued at SRT, and they have a great home time plan. They also offer a passenger program where, after certain criteria are met, family members are welcome to go on the truck with you.

SRT also has great medical and dental insurance with Blue Cross-Blue Shield, with your choice of single or family coverage with disability and cancer insurance available. Also offered is a prescription card plan to help cover medication. SRT provides a company paid life insurance policy, 401k retirement plan with company matched contributions and paid vacations.

SRT operates only premium equipment, they are 100% late model Freightliner conventional condos and midroofs. SRT operates over 400 tractors, all of which are air-ride equipped, and each truck is installed with QUALCOMM'S Omni-Tracks satellite communications system, the PRE-PASS DOT automatic weigh system, EZ-PASS to I system, and IN-CAB E-MAIL.

Their trucks are powered by 435-500 horse Detroit and Caterpillar engines. Combine that with EATON Super 10 Speed transmissions and Eaton rear-ends, and you get an astonishing 1650 ft/lbs. of torque.

That means no more worrying about being able to pull that next hill. Their newest trucks are Jake brake equipped for added safety in the mountains.

SRT has over 600 dry-van and refrigerated trailers that are also air-ride equipped. All trailers are 53 foot Wabash or Utility and the reefers are powered by Thermo King and Carrier units.

To find out how you can become part of the SRT family, contact their Recruiting Department at 1-888-778-8182 or visit them on the web at www.southernref.com

" A photograph is not created by a photographer.  What he does is just to open a little window and capture it. The world writes itself on his film. And the act of the photographer is closer to reading than it is to writing. He is the reader of the world."
