Dear {FName},

They say timing is everything.

Every now and then, a couple of the suits will wander down and ask us for a customer or user testimonial. We usually tell them we'll have to pull something out of the files and send it up to them later, but the other day we just happened to be reading the following email when they showed up.

I just have to share my (our) experience with your site. We drive as a team and were unemployed as my co-driver had points on her license. Very hard to get us looked at. Tuesday midnight we both put our information on your site. We had 9 job offers (3 serious) by Thursday.

Friday we were hired with a great company and are leaving on our first run with them to California this Wednesday. I honestly could NOT believe the fast response. Way beyond our expectations. Thank You So Much

Les & Lea

We were pleased to be able to tell the suits to check the printer.

And, they were pleased to do so.

Timing is everything.

Although I'm not young myself, I will definitely remember those serving our country in the Military. As a member of the Naval Reserve, I spent part of 2005 and most of 2006 serving in Iraq.

This is just to say that all of those placing themselves in harms way for the freedoms that we enjoy, are not all young. Let's remember ALL of those serving.

Thanks for your support of the industry and of our great country. Have a happy 4th.

Editor: You got it! And, thank you!

Dear TruckDriver.com,

I always remember the men and women serving in the military, because I am here in Iraq with a Navy SEABEE unit transporting heavy equipment around.

My prayers go out to them every time we pass each other on the road because I know you may not see them again.

So, thank you for thoughts on the Fourth...but for most of us it's just another working day.

Trucker Bob

TruckDriver.com Carrier of the Month

L. J. Kennedy Trucking

Founded in 1947, L.J. Kennedy Trucking is a short to medium haul specialized carrier. L.J. Kennedy serves several Fortune 500 companies. They offer service to points East of the Mississippi River, with a focus on the Northeast & New England. They enjoy a close relationship with their customers and have terminals at or nearby many customer locations.

L.J. Kennedy's specialty is providing premium service to the building materials and construction trade. They transport gypsum-wallboard, structural-steel, precast-concrete, roofing shingle, metal-studding, metal-pipe, and lumber.

Their company driver credo says it all…

The L.J. Kennedy Trucking Company Driver Credo

These words are written for the top 20% of America's tractor-trailer drivers. (Because those are the only drivers we'll hire).

Look, there is only room for one flatbed carrier at the top of the mountain. One setter of the standard for excellence. And that is the spot that L.J. Kennedy occupies.

Let other trucking companies make growth their measure of success. We don't care, and our drivers don't care. We're different. Our goal is simple: to be America's most respected, and admired, flatbed carrier. The carrier with the most respected and admired drivers.

We're not interested in bigness for the sake of bigness. Or settling for second-best. Our drivers won't settle for less than the best. Same as the generations of L.J. Kennedy drivers that came before them. Excellence is a tradition at L.J. Kennedy. Always has been. Always will be.

In every field there are leaders and there are followers. It takes courage to lead. To go your own way. To resist the lure to conform. To listen to the voice within you that tells you to do what is right, not what is easy. To push yourself to excel, when others have given up and given in.

Our drivers understand our philosophy of excellence. After all, they maintain the same standard in their own lives, personally and professionally.

Today, in cities big and small, three hundred and fifty L.J. Kennedy drivers are piloting their tractor-trailers safely and gracefully on America's highways. They come from the rocky shores of Maine, and the lush green expanses of Kentucky. As well as another eighteen states in-between. Most are born and bred in the USA, but not all were so blessed. Our driver's ranks have been strengthened by the contributions of drivers born on four continents, and sixteen different countries. What's most important to our drivers isn't what makes them different. It's what makes them the same: the desire to be the best.

When the time comes for our drivers to look back on their lives, there will be no regrets about taking the easy path. Their children will understand and their spouses will respect them for it. That is one of the rewards of excellence. Of being the best. Of refusing to compromise. Because needing to be a part of something great is worth the sacrifice. So our drivers will never have to look back with regret because they didn't have the courage to reach for the best that rested within them.

We promise you this -- it won't be easy. Flatbed hauling never has been easy. Never will be. Being the best never is. But think of the rewards and you'll understand what it means to be an L.J. Kennedy driver.

It's all about pride. Pride in a job well done. If you understand what we're talking about, you need to call us. Get the facts -- they'll lead you to L.J. Kennedy. If you're good enough, you'll soon know the feeling that comes from being a valued member of an elite team.

You know, we are still waiting for those photos to start rolling in, we're beginning to think you don't like us. Or, maybe you were just fibbing about carrying those cameras with you on the road.

Last time around we were apologizing for the way the Cell Phone Bill Survey was initially posted.

This time around we are apologizing for not having a live link to the Cost of Eating on the Road Survey.

Who knows what we'll be apologizing for next time around.

Anyway, here's the breakdown on your weekly meal money:

Less than $25 per week...........6%

$25 to $50 per week...............21%

$50 to $100 per week.............34%

$100 to $125 per week...........20%

More than $125 per week.......19%

Remember, all surveys are for entertainment and informational purposes only, they should not be referenced as statistical facts or relied upon for research purposes.

With that being said (you gotta love the suits), why not take a swing (you'll get it in a second) at The TruckDriver.com Country Club Trucker Survey.

We know some of you are golfers, we just don't know how many. Let us know.

We'll be back next month with another apology.

Until then, keep on truckin' and please drive safely.

PS drive safely, that's kind of punny for a golfing trucker...or a trucking golfer
