Dear {FName},

Happy New Year!

Good Riddance Old Year!

What can we say about 2008? We don't even know where to begin.

We watched Wall Street crumble, the auto industry fumble, the mortgage industry rumble, politicians stumble and the government mumble. You might say it was a rough and tumble year.

We saw one of the longest political campaign seasons in history, and then witnessed history at election time.

We saw fuel prices rise to an all time high then drop to what felt like a record low.

We saw the economy kick off its muddy shoes - we are waiting for the other one to drop - and begin trying to pull itself up by its bootstraps.

We said good-bye to Paul Newman, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Bo Diddley and Arthur C. Clarke.

We said hello to Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, Tina Fey and Michael Phelps.

And, through it all TruckDriver.com continued to help drivers find good jobs and trucking companies find good drivers. Some things really don't change.

We wish you a safe and prosperous 2009!

Thank You for the Birthday Wish! I enjoy reading your web sight each month.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR
TO ALL TRUCK DRIVER.COM EMPLOYEES
AND MY FELLOW TRUCK DRIVERS!

Remember that old Merle Haggard song?

Are we rollin' down hill
Like a snowball headed for hell?
With no kind of chance for the flag
The Liberty Bell

I wish a Ford and a Chevy
Would still last ten years
Like they should
Is the best of the free life behind us now?
Are the good times really over for good?

According to the results of The TruckDriver.com Better Times Ahead Survey, most of you think it's going to be awhile before the good times return.

Here's what you told you us when we asked:

When do you think the economy will start to improve?

First Quarter of 2009 - 15%
End of Summer 2009 - 22%
Not until sometime in 2010 - 32%
Not likely to happen for a few years - 23%
Never - 8%

Like we said last time, we truly hope there are better times ahead, and soon!

Now, as the Monty Python folks were always fond of saying, it's time for something completely different - survey wise, that is.

The TruckDriver.com Connectivity Survey

Until next time, keep on truckin' and please drive safely.
