Dear {FName},

Trucker Buddy International Hires
New Executive Director

Randy Schwartzenburg, formerly the director of national sales for the Digital Magazine Technology Division of Randall Reilly Media, has accepted an offer as the executive director of Trucker Buddy International, ending his 15 year tenure at Randall Reilly Media.  His accomplishments include starting and producing The Great American Trucking Show, eTrucker.com, America’s Traveling Truck Show and working as the associate publisher of Truckers News magazine.  Schwartzenburg joined Randall Reilly Media in 1994 as the controller of the company and quickly moved in the area of managing business units.  For the last six years, he has served on the board of Trucker Buddy International as its treasurer.

“I appreciate all that Randall Reilly Media has done for me throughout my career and I’m excited to become the executive director of Trucker Buddy.  While serving on the board of directors, I’ve witnessed the passion for the program of our Trucker Buddies and educators and understand the importance of Trucker Buddy International within the trucking community.  As with most worthwhile goals, it takes everyone working together for Trucker Buddy International to achieve the success it deserves.” says Schwartzenburg.

Mark Taylor, president of Trucker Buddy and a professional driver for Wal-Mart, is very enthusiastic about the appointment of Schwartzenburg. "With Randy's history and working knowledge of the industry I'm confident we have the right person leading Trucker Buddy.  Randy's time serving TBI as an officer shows he has an understanding of the importance of the program, great enthusiasm, and will work with all the volunteers and educators to continue TBI's mission of educating schoolchildren." says Taylor.

Trucker Buddy International, an independent, non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, often called the number one trucking image campaign in North America, has helped educate schoolchildren and introduce educators to the trucking industry.  This gives them the world through the eyes of a professional truck driver.  The Trucker Buddy program helps to educate and mentor schoolchildren via a pen pal relationship between professional truck drivers and children in grades 2-8 as supervised by their teachers.

After an extensive screening process, the professional truck drivers are matched with a class and as directed by the teacher, drivers share news about their travels with their class. Students write letters and send pictures to their drivers. Students' skills in reading, writing, geography, mathematics, social studies, and history are enhanced and learning is fun.

Since 1992, Trucker Buddy International has helped educate over a million schoolchildren and introduced them to caring, compassionate men and women, professional truck drivers.  The on going success of the program is due to driver volunteers, participating teachers and the contributions of sponsors.  There is no cost to the drivers or teachers to participate in the program. The Trucker Buddy program is funded entirely by sponsorships and your donations.

Their experienced and professional leadership team and staff have the knowledge and capabilities to provide the highest level of transportation services to their customers as well as an exceptional work environment for their drivers.

With a wide diversity of service capabilities they are positioned to supply the right equipment, at the right time, at the right place – anywhere in the continental 48 states, as well as Mexico and Canada.

Building on their solid foundation and years of experience they have continued to enhance their competitive advantage through the formation of strategic business partnerships with leaders in the industry and reinventing their business practices through the implementation of advanced technologies and processes.

Arrow knows that – in addition to a great paycheck – there are a lot of other important things that will keep drivers happy on the roads.

That’s why they are always improving their perks & benefits to meet the changing needs of drivers.

Centrally based in Tulsa, OK, Arrow offers a wide variety of driving options for qualified individuals. Although they are primarily an OTR Flatbed carrier, there are positions available in Heavy Haul, and Regional Flatbed.

And if you’re just getting started, they offer an outstanding entry level program to get your career going in the right direction.

Arrow Trucking prides itself on offering one of the best driver programs in the industry! Arrow’s unique entry level program gets you on the road quickly, and accelerates pay rapidly so you have a real opportunity to earn big bucks – often more than a lot of companies offer drivers with a year or more experience.

To qualify you will need to attend a CDL Training Center. Arrow will be happy to help locate one for you.

Orientation
After graduation, you will come to Tulsa, OK for a one-week orientation (they provide transportation). Arrow provides motel, breakfast (at the motel), and lunch each day. You will also earn $40.00 per day beginning Wednesday, payable the Friday following first dispatch.

Road Training
After graduation, you will be assigned a trainer. Training takes approximately 4 weeks, and is a 190 hour program, which is much shorter than most other companies. They choose to keep it short, so it will be an intense training period. This will allow you to get behind the wheel of your own rig as quickly as possible. Road training pay is $300.00/week.

Your Own Truck
After training, you will be assigned your own truck. For the first 90 days, you will earn $.34cpm. After that, you will earn $.36cpm.

As you learn, and as you get more experience, Arrow wants your experience with them to be a rewarding one. And that starts on day one. Your success is their goal and they will do all they can to get your career aimed in the right direction!

See what Arrow is all about, and what they can offer you.

There’s an old saying about truckers and their troubles – Miles cure everything.

If there’s any truth to that, and most old sayings are based on a general truthiness (the 2006 Word of the Year), the trucking industry needs a telethon where people can call in and donate their miles to finding the cure.

Based on the results of the TruckDriver.com Miles & Miles Survey, there’s no cure in sight.

We asked:
Are you getting more miles now compared to the beginning of the year?

You said:
I’m getting more miles lately – 11%
My miles are about the same as they have been all year – 21%
I’m getting fewer miles lately – 68%

Pick up the phone and make your pledge now!

There is no doubt the Internet has changed the way we communicate with each other.

Take the TruckDriver.com Twitter-Dee, Twitter-Dum Survey and let us know if you tweet. Seems like it would be twit, doesn't it?

Until next time, keep on truckin' and please drive safely.
