Dear {FName},

The 47th Annual Mid-West Truck Show will be held February 5 & 6, 2010 at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois.  The 2010 Show will continue its phenomenal growth with more exhibitors and the wildly successful “Trucker’s Pride” Truck Beauty Contest for work and show trucks.

The 2010 Mid-West Truck Show includes expanded displays, programs and space for nearly 200 exhibitors to help truck operators move ahead in a complex market while facing the challenges of changing regulations, an uncertain economy and increased costs.

The 2010 Truck Show at the Peoria Civic Center, 201 S.W. Jefferson Street, is located just off I-74 in downtown Peoria, Illinois, and provides ample truck access and parking.   Truck Show attendees will see displays of the newest tractors, trailers, engines, parts, accessories, communication and computer equipment, tires, lubricants, services and much more. Plus, representatives of all state and federal government agencies that deal with the trucking industry will be available. There will be product demonstrations, many door prizes and special show prices for all in attendance.

The “Truckers Pride” Truck Beauty Contest expands for its third year with all new categories and space for additional trucks.  Last year’s Contest included several national publication winners.  The 2010 Show promises cash prizes, trophies and recognition for its winners.

The Mid-West Truck Show is held in conjunction with the Annual Convention of the Mid-West Truckers Association.

Friday, February 5 th – 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Salute to the Women Behind the Wheel

All female professional drivers are invited to join Women In Trucking for the "Salute to the Women Behind the Wheel" to be held at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, March 27, 2010 (Rooms C201-C205) at noon.

Women make up less than six percent of the professional driving force. And many reach significant levels of safety achievement and experience. The Women In Trucking Association will recognize these professionals and their accomplishments at the first annual “Salute to the Women Behind the Wheel.”

The “Salute to the Women Behind the Wheel” will be the first event of its kind to honor female drivers.

Anne Ferro, Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is scheduled to be the featured speaker. Ms. Ferro will help present safe driving awards to drivers who have reached significant milestones with their carriers.

The event, in the upstairs conference rooms at the Kentucky Exposition center, will include live music by Rob Anthony (myspace.com/robanthony) and Highway Fever’s Terry Wooley with Alyson Burke & Andrea Warner (alyanmusic.com). Lisa Kelly of Ice Road Truckers has been invited.

Each female driver will receive a complimentary t-shirt along with a bag filled with items and offers from our corporate members. There will also be door prizes. And look for our signature chocolate fountain (along with snacks and beverages).

At 1:00 pm (central time) female drivers will gather for a group photo in their red “Salute to the Women Behind the Wheel” t-shirts. Guinness World Records says it will require at least 417 female drivers to achieve a new record for the largest gathering of female professional drivers.

Any female professional driver and immediate family are invited and are not required to be a member of Women In Trucking. Please register at http://www.salute2women.com prior to the event. All members (men and women) of Women In Trucking are also invited to participate in the celebration (and must also register) and are encouraged to join us in honoring these professional drivers. There are already over 120 who have pre-registered!

Daimler Trucks North America, Frito-Lay and Wal-Mart have committed to Gold Level sponsorship of the event.
