ATA seeks nominations for elite team of professional drivers, industry ambassadors

American Trucking Associations opened the nominating process for professional truck drivers to serve on the 2019-2020 America’s Road Team. America’s Road Team, a group of highly-accomplished professional truck drivers, promotes the trucking industry by educating the general public, media, and elected officials about the industry’s strong safety record and importance to the economy.

“Trucking continues to see professional drivers as the most important safety factor on the road and, as such, we have the utmost respect for the millions of skilled truck drivers who serve America’s economy with pride,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear. “For the past 32 years, America’s Road Team has elevated the visibility of truck drivers and their important work in communities throughout the country, so we look forward to selecting a new group of passionate trucking advocates and welcoming them as the next generation of Captains.”

Mapping Your Road to Success: What to Expect at Expedite Expo 2018 By Sean M. Lyden

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”

This quote by Benjamin Franklin captures the essence of what you can expect by attending Expedite Expo 2018. That's because a two-day investment at the Expo will pay dividends in terms of expanding your industry knowledge and network to help you grow your business—whether you’re a driver, owner-operator, or fleet owner.

Launched in 2001, Expedite Expo is the only trade show in the world geared exclusively to the expediting trucking industry.  And today, the Expo—which runs July 20 and 21 at the Lexington Center in Lexington, Ky.—has grown to attract attendees across North America, where they come to learn about the newest trucks, career and business opportunities, and products.

The investment? Only your time. Registration is free—and so is truck parking.

But your time is valuable. So, why you should register to attend Expedite Expo and expect a high return on your two-day investment? Here are seven reasons.

The company is still run by the Vinje family, and holds Bill’s emphasis on respect, dependability and safety in high regard. Now, for something a little more serious. We’re sure you must have heard some of the hubbub about this thing called Net Neutrality.

Net Neutrality is the basic principle that Internet service providers should allow access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites. It prohibits internet service providers like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon from speeding up, slowing down or blocking any content, applications or websites you want to use. Net Neutrality is the way the internet has always worked.

The current Net Neutrality rules are set to expire on June 11, and new regulations handing providers broad new power over how consumers can access the internet will take effect.

Take the TruckDriver.com Net Neutrality Survey and let us know what think.

Until next time, keep on truckin’ and please drive safely.
