Happy New Year!

Here’s hoping 2021 is a much better year for everyone!

Every new year brings changes and you are looking at one of those changes right now. For many years, the e-Report (how many of you knew ‘The e-Report’ is the unofficial ‘official’ name of this newsletter?) was published twice a month, on the first and the 15th. Beginning in 2021, the decision was made to scale the e-Report back to once a month. That decision created the dilemma of  “the first or the fifteenth?”

We’ll let you guess which one we chose.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Look for us on the 15th of every month.

Have a peaceful and prosperous 2021!

TCA and CarriersEdge Reveal the 2021
Best Fleets to Drive For

Top 20 Winners to Compete for
Overall Awards at Truckload 2021

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and CarriersEdge are pleased to announce the 2021 Best Fleets to Drive For. These 20 for-hire trucking companies from across North America are being recognized for providing exemplary work environments for their professional truck drivers and employees.

“We are proud to recognize the winners of the 2021 Best Fleets to Drive For contest,” shared TCA President John Lyboldt. “In a year where the essential services provided by our industry have come into public focus, it is especially important to acknowledge those carriers who are going above and beyond in setting the standards for workplace satisfaction. Each of the Top 20 winners should take pride in the dedication they have shown to our essential workforce.”

“2020 was a year like no other, and the 2021 Best Fleets showed that they were stepping up to address those challenges,” said CarriersEdge Chief Executive Officer Jane Jazrawy. “Even in the midst of a pandemic these fleets are focused on creating a great workplace experience for all their drivers, and with an average satisfaction rate over 90% their drivers clearly appreciate those efforts.”

ATA Statement on Resignation of
Secretary of Transportation
Elaine L. Chao

“Secretary Chao has been a strong leader and a tremendous partner on a host of issues impacting the trucking industry. She came into the role as one of the most experienced cabinet secretaries in our nation’s history, and has proven to be a leader who embodies integrity, courage and conviction.

“From the Department’s efforts to improve safety while providing flexibility for commercial drivers, drawing a roadmap for future transportation leaders to follow on automated vehicles, and recognizing the unique role drivers play in our industry, she should be commended for her vision.

“Her leadership throughout the COVID pandemic, ensuring that trucks and truck drivers could continue doing their essential work - despite the many barriers set in front of them - was exemplary and an example of her commitment to this country.

“On a personal note, having worked for and with her over many years, I can attest that Elaine is a person of strong moral character, and should be applauded for not standing idly by following yesterday’s abhorrent and shameful events at the Capitol. This is the kind of principled stand in support of our democracy I’ve always known her to take. On behalf of ATA and the entire trucking industry, I want to thank her for her admirable service to our nation.
