ATA Says, Senate Put America Ahead of Itself

American Trucking Associations President and CEO Chris Spear issued this statement on the Senate’s passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill:

“For nearly three decades, our nation and industry have been held hostage by empty promises—all talk, no action. Today, the Senate put America ahead of itself.

“Passage of this bipartisan infrastructure bill is a groundbreaking step toward revitalizing America’s decaying roads and bridges, supporting our supply chain and economy with the foundation they need to grow, compete globally and lead the world. The bill also contains significant measures to grow and strengthen trucking’s essential workforce.

“The men and women who carry this economy on trucks thank those senators who had the courage to bridge the partisan divide, putting the interests of our nation above politics.”

As TCA Breaks Carrier Membership Records, the Association Announces a Comprehensive Initiative Promoting Trucking’s Image

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), the only trade association whose sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry, today announced that it is partnering with LaunchIt Public Relations, a firm focused exclusively on the trucking and transportation industry, to develop and roll out a comprehensive program that focuses on the image of the trucking industry. This initiative comes at the same time that TCA has reached a record high in carrier membership with a 6% year-to-date gain. TCA carrier members have a combined truck count of more than 210,000 trucks that represent over $38B in annual truckload revenue.

The new initiative is predicated on showcasing the truckload segment of the industry’s importance in four areas:

  • A strong commitment to SAFETY;
  • The use of ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY to improve safety, efficiency, and driver quality of life;
  • The ESSENTIALITY of truckload carriers for the nation, its economy and prosperity; and
  • Recognition for the generosity of the industry through DRIVER GOODWILL and CARRIER COMMUNITY OUTREACH.
