Trucking Cares Foundation Donates $10,000 to Support Truckers Experiencing Hardship

The Trucking Cares Foundation, the trucking industry’s charitable arm, donated $10,000 to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, a non-profit dedicated to supporting the families of truckers who have been sidelined due to injuries or illnesses.

“Trucking is a close-knit family, and whenever one of our brothers or sisters falls on difficult times, we band together to help them get back on their feet,” said Phil Byrd, chairman of the Trucking Cares Foundation.  “Whether it’s delivering the products that Americans depend on each day or transporting humanitarian relief when disasters strike, truck drivers are always there to serve our communities.  The St. Christopher Fund honors the sacrifices truck drivers make by having their backs when their families need it most.”

Hurricanes Helene and Milton Updates and Information

USDOT Routing Assistance Hotline

The U. S. Department of Transportation has activated the Routing Assistance Hotline for Hurricanes Helene and Milton responders. The Hotline is for Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial response personnel, as well as their contractors, conducting relief missions. To reach the Hotline, please contact your regional FEMA Office and/or your state’s Emergency Operations Center.

Women In Trucking Association Names New Membership Director

The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) recently named Alyssa Kirkman senior director of membership. In this newly created position, Kirkman is responsible for all aspects of membership, engagement, retention and strategic recruitment initiatives for the association. In this critical role, Kirkman also will help to advance WIT’s mission to encourage the employment of women in the transportation industry, eliminate barriers they face and promote their accomplishments.
