Founded in 1947, L.J. Kennedy Trucking is a short to medium haul specialized carrier. L.J. Kennedy serves several Fortune 500 companies. We offer service to points East of the Mississippi River, with a focus on the Northeast & New England. (Carrollton drivers rarely serve the Northeast or New England -- their focus is on the Midwest and Southeast). We enjoy a close relationship with our customers and have terminals at or nearby many of our customer locations.
L.J. Kennedy's specialty is providing premium service to the building materials and construction trade. We transport gypsum-wallboard, structural-steel, precast-concrete, roofing shingle, metal-studding, metal-pipe, and lumber.
The level of service we provide our customers is an essential tool in their marketing strategy, due to the "commodity-type" nature of their product-line. Essentially, we are more than a trucking company to our customers -- we are their competitive edge.

You will be paid the same for all dispatched miles, empty and loaded. You will receive $1.00 cents per mile for all dispatched miles run, based on PC-Miler shortest miles. Accessorial charges are as follows:
Tarp pay: $15
Stop-off pay: $40
Detention pay: 75% of any detention charges collected will be paid to you.
Over-dimensional charges: An extra eight cents per mile will be paid to you for all over dimensional charges billed.
Minimum charge: You will receive a minimum of $200 for each load hauled, regardless of length of travel, inclusive of all accessorial charges.
Fuel-Surcharge: You will receive 100% of the fuel-surcharge that is billed to the customer.
